Individual Project
This project was my submission to the Open Doors X Framer Student Challenge and it won third place! I wanted to capture the feeling of experiencing a moment on film from when I used to take photography classes in high school. The translucent film strip is intended to capture that experience whereas the glass gives it a new perspective.

Moments - Express or capture one or multiple moments through an interaction
This prompt really stumped me at first due to its ambiguity and broadness. I spent some time brainstorming before opening up Framer. Most of my initial ideas were related to cameras as I took the theme somewhat literal in terms of capturing moments.
After some brainstorming, I decided to go with a film reel as the main component. The film reel look reminded me of when I took photography in high school and got the chance to develop film myself. I remember looking at the film once it was developed being able to see the translucent moments I've captured. That experience became the main idea of this interaction.
The first iteration started as just a film reel. I wanted it to move so it could show multiple different moments and also be draggable as if it was a real strip of film. However, I felt this version was missing something. While I liked the simplicity of the film strip, I felt I could add something more.
After thinking about what I could add, I remembered zooming into my film strips when trying to develop them into photographs. That inspired me to add this liquid glass component. I tinkered with the settings for a while and finally got the desired effect of a sorta zoom and stretched look.
reflection
This was my first time designing my own component and interaction in Framer which made it feel daunting to even enter this challenge. However, I am proud of what I created and I was able to learn more about the various functionality that Framer has to offer. If I were to add more to this interaction, I would've wanted the glass to produce more of a zoom in effect while including fun details within the images that are revealed with this zoom.
